Convention Programme

A simple guide to the planned Bunyoro Homecoming Convention programme for 27 to 29 December 2027 in Hoima. The programme brings together culture, development, tourism, investment, youth activities and networking.

Programme at a Glance

The convention is planned as a three-day homecoming. There will also be pre-conference and post-conference activities for people who book early.

Before the Convention

A medical camp is proposed for two to three days before the convention. Some meetings with key offices and partners may also be arranged.

During the Convention

The main days will include registration, exhibitions, opening ceremony, fashion show, presentations, panel discussions, field trip, gala dinner and entertainment.

After the Convention

Pre-booked meetings may continue for people interested in government engagement, business opportunities and investment follow-up.

Day 1 - 27 December 2027

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Registration Desk Opens

Arrival of speakers, guests and participants. The registration team will welcome guests and guide them to the right areas.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Exhibition Opens

Exhibitors begin showcasing businesses, cultural items, services and investment opportunities.

2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Official Opening Ceremony and Fashion Show

Welcome remarks, short background presentations, homecoming introductions from guests from different countries, youth-led fashion show, royal keynote address on culture and identity, and supper buffet. Dress code is identity attire from your country or continent.

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Open Networking

Guests meet, connect and share ideas in a relaxed evening setting.

Day 2 - 28 December 2027

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Development, Oil and Investment

Main convention presentations on investment opportunities, the oil industry and regional development. The youth and young adults track will focus on development, tourism, apprenticeships, good practice examples and panel discussion.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Lunch Break and Exhibition

Lunch break with time for guests to visit exhibition stalls and continue networking.

2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Agriculture, Health and Education

Presentations and discussions on agriculture, health, education and training. The youth track will look at agriculture and health opportunities, apprenticeships and good practice examples.

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Open Networking, Games and Activities

Evening networking with games and activities for participants.

Day 3 - 29 December 2027

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Action and Future Planning

Diaspora presentations on legacy and collaboration, regional enterprise planning, panel discussions and keynote address. Youth sessions include social media for business and diaspora experience sharing.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Lunch Break and Exhibition

Final lunch break with exhibition visits and networking.

2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Tourism and Investment Field Trip

Optional field trip with an extra charge. Proposed visits include the palace, Lake Albert, Kabalega Airport and other tourism or investment sites.

Note: A local guide or tour company will be needed.

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Closing Ceremony and Gala Dinner

Black-tie red carpet event with remarks, day reports, closing keynote address on leadership and identity, dinner buffet, traditional dancers, awards and recognition.

10:00 pm - Late

Dance Party and Live Band

Evening entertainment with a live band after the gala dinner.

Ticket and Costing Notes

Conference Ticket

The adult conference ticket includes full three-day entry to all sessions, except the gala dinner and evening entertainment.

Young Adults

Young adults are people aged 18 to 29. Their ticket also covers the three convention days, except extra-charge evening activities.

Extra Charges

The Day 3 field trip, gala dinner and live band entertainment are planned as extra-charge activities.

Children

Children below 18 are welcome, but they are not registering as convention attendees. Creche services may be sourced separately at an extra cost to parents or guardians.
